Filter Nozzle

Filter nozzles that protect the melt stream while keeping pressure loss under control.

Filter Nozzle — Rootier SPECIALTY component

Filter Nozzle

Filter nozzles purify the melting polymer and protect the hot runner system and mould from contamination. Available in sieve and gap types, they improve polymer homogenization and master batch color mixing while keeping pressure loss under control, and the filter is interchangeable with a static mixer.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • A filter nozzle incorporates filtration into the melt flow path to help remove unwanted particles or contaminants before the material enters the mold or downstream processing system.

  • A filter nozzle may be useful when material cleanliness is important or when recycled and reprocessed materials may contain contaminants that need to be controlled.

  • The filter opening, filtration area, melt flow path, and material compatibility can affect pressure drop and flow stability. The design should therefore be matched to the material and required output.

  • Yes. ROOTIER can provide customized filter nozzle solutions based on the injection unit, connection dimensions, material requirements, and filtration specifications.
