Extruder Mixer

Extrusion static mixers for film and sheet lines — TK and TX mixing elements installed ahead of the die for colour and melt homogenisation.

Extruder Mixer — Rootier EXTRUSION component

Extrusion Static Mixer

Extrusion static mixers can be easily integrated into existing extrusion lines, allowing manufacturers to enhance material color mixing efficiency by inserting mixing elements in front of mold. Which are widely used on film and sheet production lines. Base on mixing requirement, we offer 2 types of mixing elements for options

Frequently Asked Questions

  • An extrusion static mixer is installed in-line ahead of the die to homogenise melt colour, temperature and additives on film and sheet extrusion lines without rotating parts.

  • TK elements use a helical twisted-blade geometry with a longer pitch and overall length for progressive distributive mixing. TX elements use a denser lattice geometry with a shorter overall length for more intensive mixing in a compact installation space. Selection depends on viscosity, colour loading and available line length.

  • Match the mixer diameter D to your melt pipe or adapter bore, then choose TK or TX based on mixing intensity and available length L. Confirm flange dimensions G and L1 against your existing die adapter. ROOTIER can size TK15–TK60 and TX15–TX60 from drawing or sample.

  • Yes. Extrusion static mixers are designed for easy integration into existing extrusion lines by inserting the mixing elements in front of the die or mold, typically via a flanged housing matched to the current adapter.

  • The static elements break laminar flow and redistribute pigment and foaming agent across the melt channel, reducing colour streaks, improving foam cell uniformity and shortening purge time when changing colour.

  • Yes. ROOTIER supplies TK and TX mixing elements and complete flanged mixer assemblies according to machine drawings, melt-pipe dimensions and process requirements for film and sheet extrusion.
